Life Savers tested a carbonated soda version of its classic candy flavor in the early 1980s and again in the mid nineties, aiming to bottle the exact taste of the hard candy in drink form. It performed well in early taste tests, but many consumers ultimately found the idea of drinking liquid candy off putting rather than appealing. Both attempts were pulled from the market within about a year, and the soda never became a lasting product.
