Marathon Bar

Marathon Bar

Mars sold the Marathon Bar from 1973 to 1981, an unusually long, braided caramel and chocolate candy bar with a ruler printed right on the red wrapper so kids could measure how far they'd eaten. Ads leaned into the bar's length with the slogan that it was "the candy bar you can't eat quickly." Mars discontinued it in 1981, partly because the awkward length made it difficult to display and stock on standard candy racks, and the UK's Curly Wurly is generally considered its closest surviving relative.
