PB Max

Mars introduced the PB Max candy bar in 1989, layering peanut butter over a crunchy oat cookie and coating the whole thing in milk chocolate. It sold well and built a genuine fan base, which made its 1993 discontinuation surprising to a lot of customers at the time. The commonly repeated explanation is that Forrest Mars Sr. personally disliked peanut butter and ordered the bar killed despite its solid sales numbers, though Mars never confirmed that story publicly.
