Rupert

Rupert aired on Nickelodeon from 1991 to 1997, an animated adaptation of the classic British Rupert Bear comic strip following a gentle bear character, easily recognized by his checkered trousers, through a series of soft, whimsical fantasy adventures. Despite its long six year run on Nickelodeon, it never became especially well known among American audiences, who were generally less familiar with the source material than British readers.
