Wishbone

Wishbone aired on PBS Kids from 1995 to 2001, starring a Jack Russell Terrier who imagined himself as the hero of classic literary stories, from Robin Hood to The Odyssey, acted out alongside the show's real world plotlines. It became a genuinely beloved introduction to classic literature for a whole generation of kids, largely thanks to its charming central conceit. The show ran for three seasons of original episodes before continuing in reruns for years afterward.
