Nestlé released the Wonder Ball in 1997 as a hollow milk chocolate sphere with a small toy or a handful of tiny candies sealed inside. Kids loved cracking it open to see what was hidden inside, but the toy filled version drew scrutiny over choking hazards for younger children and Nestlé pulled it in 2004. A candy only version briefly returned in 2011 without the small toy that had made the original controversial.
